Last weekend I attended my first Dapper Day weekend, and wow I honestly fell in love. Attending Dapper Day was one of those Disney bucket list items for me and now I want to attend both spring and fall every year. You know I love Disney and this weekend made that love grow stronger in so many different ways.
So what is Dapper Day you May ask? Dapper Day started out in Disneyland and celebrated stepping out in style. It celebrates refined style from yesterday and today. You will see people in vintage to more contemporary looks. You can literally dress up a lot or a little, whatever your heart desires. You can check out past photos and a shop over on the Dapper Day website.
First off I had a blast putting outfits together. It truly reminded me of something I love that I let slip for a long time which is style and fashion. My wallet may not enjoy this as much haha, but finding those things you’ve loved and come back to really make life more fun.
For Magic Kingdom day which was also my arrival morning I decided I wanted to bound as Flounder one of my favorite Disney side kicks. Yellow really is not the best color on me even thigh I love the color so I decided to go with Flounders blue as my main color, and accent with yellow. I wanted to be practical with my outfits and purchasing something I would hopefully wear again. When I saw this cropped pant suit I knew it was perfect. This piece actually came from New York and Company where I had not shopped in years. It came with a belt that matched the suit but I knew I needed yellow. I snagged this yellow bow belt on Amazon which comes in a variety of colors for around $6. What was even better was it was perfect for my outfit both days. The shoes came from Target and were so uncomfortable they lasted no time at all and I threw them on for pictures. They also ran really big and I’m usually a true size 8. It didn’t help I had sprain my ankle 3 weeks prior so my right foot hasn’t liked many shoes at all. The fascinator came from Amazon as well. Other than the shoes I loved how comfortable my outfit was and if I could give one tip it would definitely be to be comfortable shoes included!
For Day 2 at Epcot I wanted to get really creative. While you don’t have to Dapper Bound for me it made it that much more fun. Since it was Flower and Garden Festival I decided to bound as Frushi a fan favorite. I loved putting this outfit together and seriously found some of the best accessories. The top was another New York and Company find you can find a similar one here. The skirt was a $10 Amazon find though it has gone up a little bit, along with the belt and fascinator. I took the fascinator I purchased apart and painted it like a piece of Frushi. I almost didn’t do this and I honestly think it was the most perfect touch. I snagged the parasol at Magic Kingdom Dapper Day and it was the perfect addition to my look but also the best sun shade on a very hot day!
I truly feel it’s all in the details. I found my brooch and pins on my shoes from The Marry Making Mouse. She makes awesome brooches or hair clips you get to choose. My shoes are Kate Spade X Keds collection are super fun and comfy. These are Rose Gold glitter. I snagged them during friends and family they are perfect for the parks and will be perfect for after the ceremony dancing shoes for my friends wedding in August. To be honest I don’t do heels at all. . My vintage pineapple earrings were another Amazon find. You can find some awesome vintage dresses and accessories for Dapper Day on Amazon for very affordable prices.
I carried my Shellie May bag this day. It was the first time I had used it and it’s the most awesome park bag and fits so so much. I found it here on Ebay. The seller was great and it took about 4 weeks to arrive from over seas, and it was a great price.
I really enjoyed seeing everyone all Dapper. Whether it be a classic dapper look or a dapper bound. Seeing everyone’s creativity come to play was so much fun.
One thing I loved most was everyone’s sweet words and kindness. This wasn’t just to people they knew but to anyone. It made me wish we could always be that way. Spread love, and kindness, give compliments to complete strangers.
My other and probably most favorite thing was meeting so many of my friends I’ve made on Instagram in person. I made some true amazing friendships this weekend and can’t wait to get to know these ladies better and hopefully see them again very soon! I could not be more thankful for this community to bring some amazing ladies into my life.
At Epcot Photopass was out and about everywhere and they seriously had their A game people who love what they do out. I kind of feel like they kind of dropped the ball on it at Magic Kingdom, but there were a few good spots and I enjoyed taking photos for people, especially with my friend Heather. I’m really loving snapping pictures with my DSLR.
Speaking of my friend Heather, just check out her perfect Brave Little Tailor and Heimlich Bound, she seriously added the most perfect details.
Also my sweet friend Ashleydawn ( seen in several pictures above) did the most adorable Soarin bound at Epcot.
Dapper Day was on my Disney Bucket List and booking this trip was very last minute. I am so glad I went and I’m doing everything I can to get to go in the fall again and make it a regular thing because it was one of the absolute best times at Disney I’ve had. Walt Disney Worlds Fall Dapper Day actually falls over Mickey and Minnie’s 90th Birthdays, what a fun celebration it will be!
Have you been to Dapper at Walt Disney World or is something your really wanting to experience?
