So you’ve decided to Visit Tokyo Disney?! What’s Next?

My husband and I went to Tokyo Disney in May 2018 and it is life Changing.  If you get the chance you must go at least once in your life!  You may be saying to yourself that it’s not affordable but there are plenty of ways to have a magical experience and not break the bank.

The Youtube Link Below explains various ways to save on Flights, Accommodations, and Tickets at Tokyo Disney Resort. We learned a lot from our first experience and because of that we saved a lot for our second trip coming up in April 2019

With this video provided planning should be a piece of cake!  But let’s talk about the parks and resort itself now that Financial Planning is out of the way.

Tokyo Disney Resort Consists of 2 Theme Parks, 2 Deluxe Resorts, 1 Moderate Resort, and 2 Value Resorts.  As well as Partner hotels like we have here in WDW by Disney Springs.

First There is Tokyo Disneyland Which I think is a perfect combination of Disneyland in California and The Magic Kingdom at WDW. Tokyo Disneyland Opened in 1983 and was the first International Disney Park!  They have a very similar castle to that of Cinderella Castle in Walt Disney World.  One amazing attribute of the park is the space! At times Walt Disney World and Disneyland Can become crowded and funnels of crowds can happen.

At the Tokyo Disney Resort they knew to expect large crowds and developed the lands accordingly, so even on the most crowded days (mostly holidays and weekends) it still is easy to get around and not feel like you are being herded like cattle.  They have lands similar to that of Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. The only addition being that instead of being called Frontierland its Westernland at Tokyo Disneyland.  Also instead of being the traditional Main Street U.S.A. they have the World Bazaar which features similar shops but has a different structure shaped in a lowercase T and is completely covered by a roof.  This is because Tokyo gets a lot of rain and sometimes snow and this is a large place that people could get under and shop.

Next there is Tokyo Disneysea, which is a completely unique park only located in Tokyo, Japan.  This was one of the many reasons I wanted to Visit. It was opened just 17 years ago and since opening day I had wanted to visit. It is one of the few Disney parks that is not completely dependent on Intellectual Properties and leaves so much to the Imagination.  The Lands are that of Ports of Call.  There is New York, Cape Cod, Arabian Coast, Mediterranean Harbor, Lost River Delta, Port Discovery, Mermaid Lagoon, and Mysterious Island. Each one a completely unique and special land you have to visit to truly experience. Mysterious Island is my favorite and holds  one of the most Unique attractions called Journey to the Center of the Earth. I unfortunately did not get to ride this when I was there, but I will go on it for our next trip in April 2019.

Make sure to stay tuned and subscribe to my Youtube Channel to be the first to know when I drop my many vlogs and photos in the future.  This ride is said to be one of the best Disney Rides in the world!  They also have a tower of terror and I know what you are thinking, and no it’s not like ours here in the states.  Theirs has a completely different storyline because if you didn’t know Twilight zone the show does not exist in Japan and locals wouldn’t know what to make of the storyline or wouldn’t know to associate it with a television show.  The storyline written for Tokyo Disney’s Tower of Terror is unique in that it has a special, yet dark artifact that is relatable in Japanese culture that causes a curse on the building!  I don’t want to spoil any surprises but let’s just say it’s spooky!

Now let’s talk merch, this is the main reason most want to visit Tokyo Disney Resort!! Their merchandise is out of this world. Not only is it well made but it’s especially unique to Tokyo Disney to be super Kawaii.  When one travels to Tokyo Disney you have to get a pass case to hold you money, tickets, and fast passes! It is essential for that TDR Look! Not only are the pass cases cute but the clothes are always changing for the season and there is always something new to collect.

Tokyo Disney mainly caters towards locals since that is their target market. International travelers obviously visit but the largest amounts of tourists there are locals.  Since they cater to locals Tokyo Disney is always putting out new and fabulous merch as well as new snacks and meals every few months to keep things fresh!  Not only are the clothes cute, but some of the food to too cute to even eat! Below is a Video showing some of the cute snacks to purchase and take home with you.
