With the announcement of Childcare Services like Lilos Playroom closing at Walt Disney World, I have seen many questions floating around about In-Room babysitting. How do Mom and Dad get a Parents Night Out at Disney? Disney has announced a new Pixar themed childcare service at Disney’s Contemporary resort but that’s still restricted to 4 and up. So what are the other options?
In March we tried out In-Room babysitting through Kids Nite Out. Would you believe it’s the first time we have ever hired a sitter at all? I was so incredibly nervous about it, but I felt safe knowing all the certifications and things their sitters had. We had decided to make it an earlier evening and start our date at 4pm.
At 4 pm on the dot our sitter arrived. She had paper work with her and we went over details , gave her a key to our room and access to charge dinner to for herself and our daughter. It is only required to buy their meal after a certain amount of time, but I personally feel I should do so if they are there during meal time. They are allowed to leave the room but can’t do any water activities. The sitter did come with a bag of little activities, and a ball my toddler immediately ran too.
We were staying at Art of Animation which is a great spot for young kids. Neither of us didn’t wanted her to be in our room all night so we mentioned taking her to play on the playground. Our toddler was literally pushing us out the door and excited for attention from a new face.
Before we even got very far out the door the sitter had text us both with her information. About 30 min later she sent us a picture of our daughter on the playground having a great time. When we were about to check in again ourselves we received another text updating that all was good.
We were finishing up dinner and received one last text that our child was asleep! She had been told her to not worry if she wouldn’t go to bed. It had been a bit of a struggle lately for us as is. We couldn’t believe she went to sleep for someone else, but we were thrilled.
Our night consisted of a stroll on the Boardwalk, and checking out Abracadabra Bar. Then we headed over to Disney Springs for a drink at Enzo’s Hideaway and dinner and the Edison. We really enjoyed checking out some new places we had never been at Walt Disney World. Two had recently just opened.
Kids Nite Out provides a variety of services at both Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Studios. I would 100% recommend to check them out and get a parents night out while on your next Walt Disney World Vacation. It is a bit of a splurge but it is so worth it, I truly believe it is so important to date your spouse!
