I’m so happy Disney is venturing outside the cupcake game a bit for some other fun inspired treats so I was thrilled to do a little ice cream crawl around Magic Kingdom to try them! Now I have nothing against cupcakes I just can’t try that many they are so sweet, and ice cream in the Florida heat is a total bread winner.
Our first stop was at Storybook Treats for the Lost Princess cone. This cone is lemon soft serve in a purple cone, with edible flowers. The same used on Violet Lemonade. It did not disappoint. I loved the flavor and so did my toddler. This is the same lemon soft serve that have at Pixar Pier in Disneyland. It is perfect for a hot park day. I would give it a 8/10 as it feels pretty simple compared to the other cones but gives all the Rapunzel vibes, and I would definitely choose this as a repeat treat in the parks.
The second stop was for the Hei Hei cone at Aloha Isle. My all the time tip for Aloha isle is use mobile ordering but sadly the Hei Hei cone is currently not available to mobile order. Hopefully that will change. The Hei Hei cone is a blue cone, the bottom half is the original Pineapple Dole Whip topped with Raspberry soft serve. Then the ice cream is topped a piece of sour candy and 2 chocolate eyes.
I’m a huge fan of Dole Whip so this cone was one of my favorites and I’m hoping they will start to offer the pineapple raspberry swirl that is now offered at Disneyland and I loved this cone. The Raspberry soft serve was fantastic and mixed very well with the pineapple. I definitely give it an 9/10 and would get it again.
The last stop was Auntie Gravities Galactic Goodies for the Adventure is out there cone. This was the most disappointing one. The cone is a blue cone with mango soft serve and a candy ballon piece. I like mango but the ice cream on this one just was funky. I think maybe the machine was having issues, it was almost like the flavor wasn’t even distributed evenly.
The candy piece had also been changed since launch and it had only been 5 days. It does look like they have since gone back to the old one so I will be giving it a try again soon. The new piece wasn’t as cute and basically kept falling off everyone’s cone. I will give the cone another try possibly because I think the mango soft serve has great potential. For now I would give this cone a 5/10 but it has a chance to redeem itself.
As a little bonus make sure to not skip out on the Peter Pan Float at Storybook Treats. I love this lime soft serve,I fell in love with it when they did the Maleficent cone at Halloween. I sure hope they will bring it back again. The Peter Pan Float is lime soft serve in sprite adorned with a red chocolate feather. It’s another hot day refreshing treat! You can also get it in a cup of you don’t want a float. It’s a 10/10 for me and reminds me of when my Mamaw used to make me sprite floats with lime sherbet as a kid when I couldn’t have real ice cream like everyone else.
Make sure to add these treats to your must try list on your next trip. Are you going to be trying one of these new treats? If so which one are you most excited to try?
