10 Tips for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2019

This post may contain affliate links. I may recieve a small commision on items you purchase, thank you for helping support the work I put into this site.

The first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has officially taken place, I was able to attended and scope out all that is new. Here are some tips and tricks for when your heading to a party this year!

1. Take advantage of the ability to arrive at 4pm

This gives you time to get in the park and get a full game plan of what you want to do and you need a game plan! Also people start lining up for some characters and some characters even come out early which isn’t advertised.

2. Eat Dinner before 6pm, don’t waist party time on Dining or a reservation

The park closes at 6 for day guest and people are lining up already for characters and such so they are there right when they come out. Get food, or have a dining reservation prior so at 6 you are ready and prepared for your plan. I say plan because you really want to have one.

3. Go to the First Parade Boo to You Parade & watch out for the new additions

While the 2nd parade is going on do things that were busier earlier in the evening.  This is different than what most will tell but one I have a child, and 2 a lot of people leave after the fireworks or stay on Main Street for the 2nd parade so it is a great time to really take advantage of lower waits.

There are also new additions to the parade this year! The Incredibles have joined the Boo to You Parade, Buzz Lightyear and his Space Dancers and the Bride from The Haunted Mansion!

4. Be in front of the Castle for the new Fireworks Show Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular

The Fireworks show is new this year has amazing projections on the castle and great music. This is one you will want a spot in front of the castle for so you can see everything. Jack Skellington tells the story Mickey and his pals on Halloween night, it is really cute. You can find a full video here.

5. Do the Attractions with Special Overlays

For the party Space Mountain goes completely black. It’s a little bit thrilling and quite terrifying at the same time. The Tea Cups take you spinning with Alice in a whole new meaning with extra lights and music for the Halloween Season. This was going on right as the party started but got better after dark! Pirates of the Caribbean has live actors throughly and you’ll find the first one in the que. These are exclusive for the party so take advantage!

6. Save treat lines for later in the evening

The treat lines open right at 7 and get extremely long, they really slow down as the night goes on so save it for a little later or find ones with shorter lines. Also if you or your child has allergies make sure to ask for the teal bag, get the tokens and exchange them for allergy friendly treats towards the end of the night.

7. Visit the New Monsters Inc Laugh Floor Treat location

Take a break from the heat and enjoy some laughs. While this isn’t a full show you walk through the Laugh Floor que line and trick or treat and walk into where the show takes places. The Monsters pop in on the screen and interact with you and your costumes. It is cute and I think a great use of the space.

8. Try Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Exclusive Treats

There are a great deal of Fall and Halloween treats that are a party exclusive. Enjoy those treats since they are limited other fall treats are available daily. I have showcased a few I was able to try below. There are several others I hope to try and I’ll add them in if I get the chance.

The Hades Hatred $7.99 found at Cool Ship its lemonade, blue caraco, blueberry Boba balls and cotton candy. It was really refreshing I would highly recommend.

The Jack and Sally push pops are $7.00 each and can be found at the Main Street Hub carts. Jack is chocolate cake, buttercream frosting and chocolate crispies. Sally is a gluten free option, is white cake, butter cream frosting and dehydrated strawberries. They were both very good and are Simply Meant to be.

Headless Horseman Cheesecake was my favorite! Its Pumpkin Mouse, Chocolate Cake, Orange glaze and was absolutely delicious.

9. Shop exclusive party Merchandise

Some of my favorite party exclusives are popcorn buckets and there are a few this year and not all have been released yet. The Mickey Pumpkin balloon is my favorite this year, but there are a few others also. There are several Hocus Pocus Villains Spectacular Items that are party exclusive as well, like a Spirit Jersey, ears and much more.

10. Seek out Popular Characters First

If you want to meet Jack and Sally or Moana arrive early! I was told by a cast member they allowed guest to que for Jack and Sally at 2:30 so if your a Passholder or had a ticket for the day time you could get in line with proof for your Not So Scary Ticket. The line opened at 4:30. Moana meets at the Tiki room and had a line at 5pm. They opened the Tiki Room que and brought her out early because the line gets so long. Both of these lines opened early but were also shorter later in the evening. Jack and Sally was about 45 min around 11pm. The Seven Dwarfs line took just about 50 minutes right at 9pm. I have a free printable guide to the characters below and exactly where to find them.

Get your FREE PRINTABLE character guide for the party here! This will give you details as to where each character is for the party.

BONUS! Don’t skip out on the dance parties especially with kids

For Preschoolers I love the Story Book Circus Disney Junior Jam with Vamprina, Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins and I even saw Timon stop by. My favorite is the Monstrous SCREAM-O-WEEN Ball in Tommorowland. Boo is even out dancing, and new this year is the Descendants Dance Party at Cosmic Rays. These go on all evening from 7pm-12:00am so stop by and get your groove on!

Extra Extra Don’t miss fun Mickey’s Not so Scary exclusive Photo Pass Opportunities

There are some great photo pass opportunities like the all New Magic Mirror, 3 different Haunted Mansion Options, the Headless Horseman and more! These are exclusive to the party so take advantage.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is such a fun addition to a fall Disney Trip. It is something fun everyone in the family will enjoy and you’ll come home with lots of memories and candy! Tell me what is your favorite part of Mickey’s Not So Sacry Halloween Party?
